DEFINITION:

HYPOGLYCEMIA – abnormal decrease of sugar in the blood. (Webster’s Dictionary)

When glucose amounts are above normal levels, the pancreas releases a hormone, insulin, that regulates glucose in the blood. When glucose drops below normal, the liver to bring the levels back to normal releases glucose. If too much insulin is released (eating too much food that has a large amount of glucose), then that makes the pancreas release insulin to counteract the glucose. When too much insulin is released, glucose levels fall below normal. High insulin levels cause hypoglycemic symptoms.

Approximately 30 million people suffer from Hypoglycemia. Many more have Hypoglycemia and have either been misdiagnosed or don’t know they have it and have never been diagnosed with it.
